Who is an Early Childhood Professional?

Early childhood professionals are caring individuals who provide the best for the development of all children. As professionals we are able to adapt our skills to meet the individual needs of each child and strive to make each learning experience enjoyable and meaningful.  Personal qualities that exemplify an early childhood professional are: patience, adaptability, flexibility, empathy and exemplary standard of ethical conduct.

An early childhood professional is a lifelong learner, who possesses a high degree of knowledge, skills and sensitivity in their interactions with young children, parents, guardians and fellow professionals within their community.  Qualifications to be successful in this field include an extensive knowledge of how children learn and grow and the strategies needed to facilitate this process. Professionals demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills, appreciate the value of strong team work, and exhibit the ability to multi-task.
