Dr. Shawn Orr is a distinguished educator and academic leader, currently serving as the Dean of eAshland at Ashland University in Ohio.

With a rich background in teaching, research, and professional practice, she has earned a reputation as an exemplary teacher-scholar in her field. Shawn has been at the forefront of driving positive change in education, delivering over 250 engaging workshops and presentations on student success, online and hybrid learning, academic technology, retention, active teaching and learning strategies, assessment, and 21^st century skill development for educators across the country.

Shawn Orr has taught more than 20 different courses in the public relations, business, management, composition, humanities and communication areas. Her areas of specialization include public relations, strategic communication, interpersonal communication, small group communication, and public speaking and her research interests include communication technology, academic technology, social media development, and the impact of active learning and academic technology on content mastery.

Dr. Orr’s unwavering passion lies in supporting faculty, students and workforce development, while fostering innovation and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, inclusive educational programs for learners of all ages.
