View your royalty statements in the Cengage Portal
The Cengage Portal is a digital authors’ and publishers’ portal giving you access to your personal royalty account. As a Cengage author or publisher, you can easily view, download and share your royalty statements. Plus, you’ll be notified whenever new statements are available.
Take a quick instructional tour on how to access your royalty account and statements in the Cengage Portal:
1. Request a Cengage Portal account
- Fill out and select this form with Cengage Portal as the category.
2. Set up your account password
- Within a week after submitting your request, you’ll receive an email from [email protected] with a link to activate your account. Be sure to check your junk/spam folder if you don’t see it.
- Click the Set Up Password button. Then, set a new username and password.
3. Log in to the Cengage Portal
You can now access your royalty account. Moving forward, you’ll receive emails when new statements are ready — you will not be able to view any past royalty statements received prior to account setup.
1. After logging in, you will see the Document Inbox
2. Once you find the document you're looking for, you can view it by clicking on the eye icon (be sure to allow popups) or download it by clicking on the download (downward arrow) button
Note: The statement will look identical to your current statements. They will remain available to you for seven years. Each new statement populates under the previous one.
1. In the Cengage Portal navigate to the Viewers tab and click the + New Viewer button
2. Add a valid name and email
3. Select which statements you’d like to share and click Share
Note: The person will receive an email invitation to set up their own account. After logging in, they’ll be able to view the statements you shared with them.
1. After logging in, click on the profile icon in the top right corner. In the dropdown menu, select Account Settings.
2. Click on the pencil icon next to the information you would like to change. Then, enter your new information.
Note: If you are changing your email address, you will receive a verification code at the new email address. Enter the code along with your account password, then click Verify. You should now be able to log in with the new email address and your same password as before.
- Enter your email address in all lowercase (it's case sensitive). Google Chrome is the preferred browser.
Update your personal information
To update your mailing address, contact name, email address or direct deposit information, email [email protected] and include the following:
- Your name
- Your company name (if applicable)
- Your email address
- Your vendor number (found on the lower right corner of your statement)
- Reason for request
- Do NOT include sensitive information, such as SSN or banking information, in your email
You will then receive an email from MS Vendors ([email protected]) that includes links to the required forms and a secure link for uploading the completed forms. Please check your junk/spam folder just in case.
1. Receive the email from MS Vendors
- You will receive an email from MS Vendors ([email protected]) with the subject "Cengage Author/Vendor Onboarding and Change Documents."
- Once you review the email, you can access the required forms below.
2. Complete the required forms
- IRS Form W-9 (US Tax Domicile)
- IRS Form W-8BEN (Foreign Tax Domicile-Individuals)
- IRS Form W-8BEN-E (Foreign Tax Domicile-Entities)
- ACH Bank Form (US Banks)
- Wire Transfer Form (Foreign Bank outside of USA)
- Vendor Information Change Form
3. Access the secure folder
- Fill out the document and save it to your desktop location for uploading.
- Click on the Secure Folder link in your email from MS Vendors.
- When you click on the Secure Folder link, your browser will automatically pop up to the below screen. You will need to update your email ID (which you provided to MS Vendors) and click Next.
- After clicking Next, you will be asked to enter an 8-digit account verification code which you received in an email from SharePoint Online ([email protected]). If you have not received this email in your inbox, please check your spam, junk or clutter folder.
- Once you enter the 8-digit verification code, click Verify.

4. Upload your documents to the secure folder
- After accessing the secure folder, click Upload at the top of the library.
- Once you click Upload, it will show a dropdown menu with three options Files, Folder and Template. Click on File.
- You will get a pop-up screen. Locate your saved documents to upload and click Open.
- Once you click on Open, the file(s) will be uploaded in the secured folder. Use this option to upload any files needed to update your records.
Assign or update your beneficiaries
1. Complete this form: Assignment of Royalties Form
2. Get the complete form notarized by an official Notary Public or Notary Service
3. Email your completed and notarized form to: [email protected]
Do not include death certificates, wills or sensitive information such as SSN or banking information.
Access tax documents
Tax documents aren’t available in the Cengage Portal. For questions about 1099s or international tax documents, fill out the Contact Us form and select Taxes (1099 or International) as the category.
